There is no YYZ HKG, all of Canada is served by YVR HKG just like LAX HKG serve all of US.
I am flying YYZ YVR HKG. My only option on days that twice weekly YVR HKG is flying.

It is an existing ticket. CX is not offering routing changes.
Thanks any way.

Fair question. New fare would be much more expensive.
Not complaining at all, these are difficult times and everyone is doing their best.
But, when the website says one thing, the agent says another (and next agent says different again), you just want to choose the best option for yourself.

I had my choice of date YVR HKG is flying and AC/WS connections YYZ YVR. A close relative had choices of dates when LAX HKG is flying and AA connection from JFK.

So my AM points from my cancelled reservation showed up today. Surprised it was so quick because the last time I needed to re-ticket an award it took four or five days. Anyway the bad news is restored points, at least for me, are restored with their original expiration dates (the earliest date for me is August 2020). So the prior rules on points seem to still apply for points earned prior to 2020.
Cancelled 1 April 2020
Miles came back today (both activity and crediting dates are dated today, +23 calendar days)
Original expiry retained, same as 36902BRF
I haven't seen the tax refund come back yet.

CX seems a little optimistic about international travelling. They resume some capacity for the last week of June:
https://www.cathaypacific.com/cx/en_...assengers.htmlWe will continue this skeleton passenger flight schedule for the first three weeks of June 2020. However, we intend to operate additional passenger flights from 21-30 June. This will increase the operating capacity in June to approximately 5% across the passenger network.
From 21-30 June, subject to government travel restrictions, Cathay Pacific will operate five flights per week to London (Heathrow), Los Angeles, Vancouver, Sydney; three flights per week to Amsterdam, Frankfurt, San Francisco, Melbourne, Mumbai and Delhi; and daily flights to Tokyo (Narita), Osaka, Seoul, Taipei, Manila, Bangkok, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore. Cathay Dragon will operate daily flights to Beijing, Shanghai (Pudong) and Kuala Lumpur.

My mom's return TPE-IAD flight on Apr 25 was cancelled, OTA only provided refund with no alternative (they say will take weeks to process).
So now just have to see when she wants to fly back and I'll book a 1 way, probably on redemption if it gets too expensive.
