Waitlist question
Still learning my way around this hobby - regarding Cx wait-list, what's Best Practice? (it's my first time asking about ANY waitlist)
Do I book my J-ticket now, and waitlist F and hope it shows up? Then what?
Or more applicable to me - a single F is available, a second one is wait-listed...buy two Js? One of each? There's the airlines "official" policy - and then there's what all of you do!
Thoughts? Hints? Overall odds of success?
Thanks everyone, so far, I can't believe I have let this knowledge sneak past me for the last ten years.

Do you mean awards? One or two? Because you can just buy tickets with money now. If you are talking awards and get one J and one F expect your companion to be peeved if you are the one in F and he or she is in the worse seat.
And really weigh the value of F vs. a J ticket. When the 777 was the old bathtubs in J and still had F, F was maybe worth it (it was for me).
Now for a slightly better seat and food and lounge those miles or $$$ can get you more (especially paying cash - a few hotel nights in the Peninsula and gourmet meals for the price difference makes paying for F a mug's game).

Rick, thanks - yes, I'm talking about awards. I understand the value question, but this is a much-belated and delayed honeymoon, just trying to set her up for complete success - if it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. But if it does...bliss for a while, at least!
So AMEN on one of us peeved...that would be me!
Thus the question - do I book two Js AND waitlist the f? Book and f, and if the 2nd doesn't come thru...back track to J? And what are my odds - or other common experiences with Cx waitlist?

In regards to Asia Miles redemption, you can do a search and there are a few threads on waitlist already. Please review the threads and ask the questions there:

If your miles are in another programme, please ask on the corresponding forum.
