Already in another thread...
This is already being discussed in another thread
I'm not sure what's best for it. But we have two simultaneous discussions now (much more in the other thread, as that info was pasted quite a while before this one)

The repaint job itself, would be the cheapest. Out of Service and the empty return leg to the sprayer would be the costly one.
I do wonder who is going to pick-up that tab. I do assume, CX did "accept" the airplane in XMN after all the work had been done (otherwise the masking off would have been done in XMN, if the aircraft was urgently needed, probably not), I would not like to be the one who signed off on the acceptance in XMN

To be fair, in defense of the OP, I too would have posted about this separately as I have absolutely 0 interest in fleets at all, let alone an airline I personally have little use for like Cathay Pacific.

But the covering in the top right facebook photo makes it look like only the "fic" part (missing the "f") will be repainted. If so, I guess this means B-HNO will have a larger space between Cathay_Pacific and the other planes? Or are they just covering it up to spare the embarrassment for now, and will repaint the whole word "Pacific" with spacing to align with the other birds?

It's not a typo, it is a painto, right?
Of course Jeanne Moos at CNN had to do a piece on it: https://us.cnn.com/travel/article/ca...ypo/index.html

Funny enough that even Ryanair is posting the same photo on their website and promoting their 24 hour grace period for minor errors LOL
(again, link got deleted.. but it is on Ryanair Facebook page)
Seems like CX gets a free worldwide advertisement about this! Probably it's not a bad thing overall haha
