Tips on clearing customs at JFK?
Its been about a year since I took CX888 into JFK.
I'm travelling in J on (hopefully) 74J.
ANY tips as to how to survive the new procedures.?
EG . Does JFK have 1 or 2 exit bays , and which door is it closest to?
(Short connection time means that a quick clearance will really help)

One jetway, using the middle door in the J cabin (this means J pax get to clear INS before F pax, so you are in luck. Almost nothing is scheduled to arrive at T7 at that time (QF doesn't clear customs there and I think it is the only arrival with a similar time). So there is light staffing of INS/customs and the danger is that some plane gets diverted and arrives before you. Otherwise it is very quick. JFK is now operating the Airtrain between terminals, making a transfer to T8 in less than 5 minutes (and any terminal in under 15).

Well sort of - when I was there a few weeks ago the AirTrain was running at a 9 minute interval, so I would allow a bit more than 5 mins to get to T8 if that's where you're going...

Unfortunately it was the front door that was used . Never mind, it was very quick thru customs , luckily we sneaked by minutes before a BA flight.
The skytrain was great , AA's lounge continues to suck.
Thks for the help and advice.
