NRT Escort to CX

I have a close (tehcnically illeagl 95 minute) connection at NRT from JL to CX. I understand JL won't help with expedited escort for FC PAx from JL to another carrier.

Would CX help provide someone to meet me at JL and escort me over to CX, if I am connecting onto CX in F from NRT to TPE?

nologic, you've already asked this question at the 'escorts' post on this forum

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum85/HTML/002266.html

Basically if you're at an illegal connection, CX is under no obligation to 'escort' you. But if you're within a legal connection time, and you're delayed for some reason, CX *might* ask JL for assistance.

Bear in mind that CX is in a totally different terminal to JL and that CX must send over one person to *meet you*. You can *always* call CX res and ask this, because what we may tell you may not be what CX will do. Then what are you going to do? Blame us?

I know of very few instances that CX has not even met me for a legal connection and the flight has been delayed! And we're talking about HKG!

I didn't get a response "over there"...except that JL wouldn't escort to another carrier.

I am not talking about CX's obligation, but rather what's practical and can be expected?

Has anyone had a CX representative met them at another carrier at NRT?

So the best bet for you to do is to CALL CX and ASK!

I don't know why you are responding like this, as if if it's improper to tap into the wealth of experience on these boards to see what people's experiences are and form expectations accordingly?

IMHO, very, very unlikely. The terminals are a way apart, so CX very unlikely to send anyone to do this.

If you don't have hold baggage, you should be able to make the connection. If you have hold baggage, don't be surprised if it doesn't make it.

I trust you will find this useful.

Just a reminder that you will be changing terminal at NRT. And also, even if YOU make the connection, your baggage might not.

I am not even sure they can since NRT airside badges are terminal specific.

Just heard from CX about this...(I had to make an actual booking with an illegal connection... 70 mins). They will send someone over to JL if your flight was initially booked with a legal connection, and your arriving flight is delayed... and your legal connection is well, now, illegal.

CX will send a representative in a van and take you airside right to the aircraft.. but that is if you're Diamond or Invitation member. (Well, that's what she told me). Doesn't matter if we're taking First Class or not.

That you for that communication. Would OW Emerald/QF Saphire help?

Plz remember that you have to go to a JL counter and get the little flimsy bus passes..Go downstairs to the ground level and try to catch anyone of the buses that go to T1 .If the JL pass won't do , they will not let you on ( I think there are 3 buses ran : 1 for the airport / 1 for Star Alliance / 1 for another group ? ) . What I am trying to say is try to get on the 1st bus that comes along to go to T1 ( if they let you on )..Don't just stand there and wait for the JL bus .
I did the reverse connection from AA ( same
T1 as CX ) to JL in T3 in 25 mins . That is
with the experience of 6 RTs on AA at NRT .

I once transitted at NRT from CO to NW. CO had their representative greeting all transittee at the gate and took us to the other terminal by airside bus. It wouldn't hurt if you ask JL for help when you check in your JL flight or before arriving at NRT.
