Suffice to say this CGK DPS experience has been, quite the trip I've made...

It will be some time before I visit again.

The sriwijaya air one way ticket costed 4m+ IDR, and conrad is ripping me another 4.5m+ IDR just to take me to BWX.

I hope this airline is at least KA quality >_<

Seems pretty opportunistic of Conrad, but cant say Im surprised. Is this a private transport?

Ive never even heard of BWX, and I live in Indonesia much of the time.

Yes private transport. As for BWX, I believe it's called Blimbingsari.

It's basically Banyuwangi's airport.

Ashsong - they are above Lion but below Garuda in terms of quality.

I was on Batik Air for the CGK-DPS sector. It was actually not bad. Okay IFE, okay food, for a flight that is merely 2 hours. Aren't they lion?

Yes - Batik is the "premium" version of Lion. Not bad actually!

As for Conrad charging 4.5mio to BWX - that is expensive! But it is quite far from Bali (you need to take a ferry and cross the straits) - a friend of mine chartered his own car this week and still had to spend close to 2mio!

We've lost to the Singaporeans again (and bloody Scoot to boot). I hope the hand-wringing brigade at Central Government Complex will place a call to Cathay City this morning.

I'm not given to praising the SQ group, but in this case, it's due- well done!

To be honest, knowing the state of Indonesian roads & driving & ferries, that is not a liability risk that I would take (as an airline) If the coach crashes... Better to ask/ pay the airport to lay on the coaches, to make it clear it isn't part of the airline's CoC.

Ive had some hair raising moments on that road between Banyuwangi & Surabaya. It is a sight to behold watching a Parawisata bus hurtling towards you when its overtaking a column of other buses and trucks then pulls in at the very last minute 😫.

Wacky races.......

if the Conrad is open to milking the situation,& seemingly pulling it off, I'm sure a 'sign indemnity' request by SQ/MI/Scoot would have a 100% sign up rate..

Bali airport (DPS) has re-opened on Wed 29 Nov, 3PM local time. Let's hope for no more closure.

So who is liable if the bus crashes? Can passengers sue the airline, or it'll be a T&C limbo in legalese?

SQ/TR won't get liability if they contracted another carrier to take their pax (successive carrier, it'll be that carrier's liability).

What if it's a non-carrier - it's their agent then?
