What was the problem? (I have just booked with them, not ticketed)

Their attitude!

I emailed them 3 times, with 3 days interval in between. Emailed to general "customer service" first, no response. Emailed to specific travel consultant second, no response. Then emailed to manager of leisure travel, no response again.

How can one expect to earn my business if they don't even respond to my simple questions about ticket restriction? (All I wanted to ask is whether the return date can be changed!!) Anyways, since then, I use their website to check ticket prices, but if I am to ticket, I will DEFINITELY won't give them my hard-earned $$$$.

Do me a favor, cancel your booking, tell them you don't like their service, and find other consultant. (kidding!)

Thanks for the tip -- so far, they have been good (have been dealing with the same person all the time, and they seem to know what they are doing).

In general, I do have no hestitation walking if I don't get decent service--will post any interesting experiences, tho.

I've used travel.com.au for many flights I've booked over the years due to the generally competitive prices, but I'll agree that their service has slipped in this time. That said, I used to know a consultant there that know longer works there so I'm sure that helped in the past :-).

Even so, there's been nothing particuarly bad, but slower response times for queries and the $30 fee for changing dates on a booking (even if it doesn't involve reticketing) have got me contemplating looking elsewhere now for the next time I'll be booking a flight. Always happy to hear feedback people have on other agencies out there.

Just tried out this site to price a HKG-SIN ticket around Chinese New Year's time. Came out with a price about 1/3rd less than any other online booking site, including Travelocity, ITN, etc...

Thanks for posting this link!

Congratulations. Would you mind sharing some details. I have been trying to book HKG-SIN for January and get HKD 12403 for biz and HKD 2200 for Y, which is more than CX charge on their site.

May I ask if you actually managed to "ticket" your 1/3 ultra cheap flight?

As someone else mentioned earlier, ZUJI will always show full list of published fares for any given date. HOWEVER, the website is not smart enough to "filter out" the unavailable fares when they show you the full list. As a result, it forces me to check each of the cases, until I come up with fare class that is available. This is a very bad web interface, one major drawback of the site.

On the other hand, ZUJI needs to offer some sort of an incentive to get me going with their site. If I can book oneway ticket for A$230 both on Qantas page and on ZUJI, I would choose more reliable Qantas over ZUJI.

The 2200 HKD fare is the one I looked at. For my travel dates [Jan27 - Jan30], the CX web site quoted 3,655 HKD. For travel on UA, which would have been my preferred carrier due to mileage earning, Travelocity and ITN were quoting over 6,000 HKD.

And yes, I could ticket it.

I wonder if you can get it ticketed - Zuji seems to icnrease the fare-price quoted in the initial booking process.

For the same dates, United comes up with 2013 HKD on zuji.
The fare is actually available (surprise surprise), so is the HKD2200 SIA and the HKD 2200 CX. And you are right, CX want double that on their website.

Here the United flight I found:

Flight: United Airlines flight 805
Depart: Hong Kong (HKG) - Mon, Jan 27 at 20:10
Arrive: Singapore (SIN)

Flight: United Airlines flight 806
Depart: Singapore (SIN) - Thu, Jan 30 at 06:50
Arrive: Hong Kong (HKG)

Travellers Base price per person Taxes & Fees Total Price
1 adult 2013.00 175 2188.00 (HKD)

The best available published CX fare HKG-SIN-HKG is HKD 2220 for departure (1st leg) 27 Dec through 15 Apr excluding departures from HKG on 28 Jan - 6 Feb inclusive. Miinmum stay 2 days.
This is in S class with "HKG/SIN VALID ON CX715/735/737 & SIN/HKG VALID ON CX710/736"

During 28 Jan - 6 Feb the fare is 3650 with the same conditions.

As a CX Diamond member you can always get the cheapest published fare, so you could travel with the outbound on 27 Jan for HKD2220.

There is also a V class fare (no mileage accrual) for HKD1750 but only valid for outbound up to 16 Jan. Stay 2/30 days. HKG/SIN VALID ON CX735/737/2073 & SIN/HKG VALID ON CX734/736/2074.

Just noticed this thread and thought some people might be interested in my recent experiences with both Zuji (Aust) and travel.com.au.

First of all, it's worth noting that I used to put a lot of business the way of travel.com.au, and they were always helpful and friendly, with good prices (they would usually negotiate if I found a lower price elsewhere).

Unfortunately, with the new regime at travel.com.au (new MD, cost-cuts, etc, etc), they have become much less customer friendy and also less competitive with their pricing, so I tend to use them much less now, generally only where they have available a special fare which no-one else does.

As far as Zuji (Australia) is concerned, I have used them a few times and have found them to be quite efficient and reliable, with no problems so far. They are also usually cheaper than travel.com.au. I just confirmed this again today, with a SYD-KUL-SYD booking where the Zuji airfare was a few dollars less (not a big deal) but the taxes were significantly less - travel.com.au uses "approximate" taxes rather than actual costs for its online bookings (a rip-off?).

So, I know who'll be getting more of my business in the future.
