Will CX ever fly to Honolulu ?

I am currently in Honolulu and there have been rumours within the community that CX may start a direct service here from HKG. Can anyone confirm this ?

Most traveller to Hawaii are leisure travellers, not business. Judging from CX's emphasis on business/first class markets by improvements on their products, I do not think Hawaii is an attractive destination for CX. For this reason, other career like Japan airlines use 747s fitting with mono-class (all Y) from Japan to Hawaii. CX on the other hand, do not have a fleet that is suited for this purpose.

Most travellers from HK will choose to fly on Japan Airlines to Hawaii. It's very cheap, and you get free stay in Japan! For these reason alone, I doubt HK people will choose to fly direct to Hawaii, when they can get extra stop in Japan for cheaper fare.
