Ticket missing

I have been promised my ticket for 3 weeks now and it still hasn't arived. I am due to fly on 14 Jun and beginning to get more worried.

I wanted the ticket in hand before my recent trips to Europe but didn't get them, I expected to see it in the mail when I arrived home but nothing.

I have called up and reconfirmed my mailing address to be correct.

They really need to improve this area.

(1) why not use e-ticket? That way, there's no need to wait for ticket to arrive in post.

(2) what reason did they give you for the non-delivery of your ticket i.e was mailed from Hong Kong on such and such date, you didn't have enough Asia Miles in your account, or they just don't know? What are they doing for you?

Because there is no e-ticket service available for my flight, and even if there was I am more comfortable having the ticket in my hand where I run the risk of losing it as opposed to the risk of there not being an e-ticket when I show up at the counter which has happened in the past.

They told me that they would check the status and later confoirmed that the ticket would arrive soon, my definition of soon is 2-7 days, never happened.

Heavan knows what is being done, I am currently in Germany and the latest is no ticket according to my wife. I have purchased another ticket already.

Why are you so interested ?

Why am I interested? You've posted details of a complaint but have not provided a balanced report saying what had been done to resolve your problem. I for one would like to know what action is being taken to address your problem for the simple reason that if a similar situation happens to me I can learn from what happened to you and know how it should be resolved. Isn't the purpose of this board to share experiences?

Unless I'm reading this wrong, didn't you post this in the first place, hoping that somebody would in fact be interested in it?

A co-worker at my office recently had tickets do a disappearing act in the mail. American Airlines simply asked him to sign a document at the airport stating his paper tickets had not arrived before departure, and they reissued them for him and he left on his trip with no further problems. The original set of tickets arrived a few days after he left. Would probably be worth asking CX if they can do the same in the event your tickets do not arrive.

Meaning did this happen to you too. I of all people know i posted on the board for the reason of feedback and views from others, what else could the question have meant?

If i wanted it to be a secret to myself this is the worse place to venture.

DJcrooks, good suggestion but I think the Cathay check in staff are unlikely to be allowed to do this.
