Cathay Pacific to launch new service to Karachi

Cathay Pacific Airways today announced the launch of a new service between Hong Kong and Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan. The service will start on 1 September and operate three times a week via Bangkok. The addition of Karachi increases the number of Cathay Pacific's destinations to 50 and further strengthens Hong Kong's position as Asia's leading aviation centre.

CX seems to continue its expanding trend.

According to some other souces, CX is considering Tehran, Iran (???) or Honolulu, Hawaii, soon...

I personally hope that CX can start service to ORD, and SEA soon. A340 may make economic sense for SEA routes (better than 747).

Karachi... no surprise, since HK has a large Pakistan population and PIA has just started service there.
