Party of 5 on the cancelled CX708 BKK-HKG today.
1 DM, 2 GO, 1 SL, 1 GR

SMS received last night saying our flight was cancelled.

Went to airport at 7am this morning. (Luckily decided not to try the CX616 that was forced to return to BKK!)

Only 1 seat available on CX700.
DM (me) got on.

The other 4 continued to wait. I told them to ask for seats on other airlines (TG / EK / RJ) if CX could not get them on CX flight. Apparently quite full today.

In the end they were given seats on EK J. Everybody relieved to be back!

So it turns out friend was originally on CX708 but they put him on CX616 instead. After they got back to BKK, they immediately sent him back to HKG, landed now. Hoping he can catch CX846 to JFK. He's just a GR

Just got off CX 610 from CMB. We were supposed to land at 8:30 this morning but were diverted to Manila when we sat on the tarmac in the plane for 8 hours. Eventually got here at 8:15pm.... it's been a long day.
Cabin crew were superb!

In the pier first right now. Most sofas are taken and my flight is delayed by 15 hours. OMG.

Anybody needs a lounge I can offer.

Singapore Weekend

I flew home to Singapore for a short weekend, returning Hong Kong Sunday (27 Aug) on CX691 (1255 departure).

Received SMS and email during a Saturday Night concert that CX690 and subsequently, CX691 got cancelled. Called CX in the early morning to see what can be done and was told they protected me by transferring me to the delayed 0645 departure CX650 which was delayed for 12 hours departing 1825, that evening. Call took less than 2 minutes though I did waited 5-10 min queuing on the line. I could also hear other teleoperators trying their best to be patiently with the other callers in the background.

At Changi airport just before 1700, there were long lines at the check-in counters with many people with luggages sitting at the seats in front of the counter. I did a self check-in at the kiosk and was pleasantly surprised that they upgraded me to J.

Despite being in a bad situation, I was lucky that things turned out pretty good for me. The 6-hour delay allowed me to have Sunday lunch with my family before I leave.

Thank you CX for taking good care of me.

I was on one of those aborted landings as late as 17:30 yesterday. Luckily we weren't rerouted though and made it on the second attempt. Lots of screaming pax during descent and go around. Quite a ride
