Wing F Sep 17 "Lunch"

The sirloin sauce was exceptional but the beef felt little too chewy to my liking.

The sirloin I thought was OK, if not a little small.

Menus's in both pier and wing the last little while are pretty poor in my opinion. I know it is matter of personal taste but nothing really stands out. Have been in eating in Qantas lounge more regularly.

Does anyone know when they change over menus from breakfast to all-day dining?

Great, looks like folks on CX806 should be able to get the best of both worlds (barely)! :D

Travelling CX F departing mid afternoon but arriving in the lounges mid morning.

I would like to get some dim sum. What's the best place?

Thanks

Someplace in town with good dim sum, going to the airport afterwards, and spending less time in the lounges. I'm fond of Lin Heung Kui because it has a very locals/old school flavor when I go there, probably forum regulars have better suggestions.

IMO the dim sum is OK at HKG in the lounges, but just that, OK, a good dim sum/yum cha place has more variety and better quality. I wouldn't go out of my way to get it at the airport unless I was super broke and was trying to save cash (and it's not like good dim sum is super-expensive in Hong Kong).

I realize this violates the unwritten law that FTers must under all circumstances must maximize their experience of all first class lounges and will report to the re-education camps shortly for my thoughtcrime, but that's what I would probably do.

Get the dim sum in town if you really want good tasty ones. The dim sum at the lounge not only has very limited selection but is just acceptable quality. If you want to try it at the lounge, order it from the noodle bar at the J lounges. You can order it at the main restaurants in the F lounges but our experiences have been, it would take forever to come.
