Which is a better option between seats 59C and 59K on the A35K?

It depends on your preference.

C is aisle and K is window.

Just a quick question, If the flight is looking almost full with limited seat selection "if your wanting to pay for seat selection or take a chance on on line check in ," What will the seat map look like once the online check in opens because i would imagine that all seats are allocated to all passengers once the booking is made , So will there be more choice of seat selection once online check in opens or will there be still limited choice. I am trying to make my mind up if to pay for seat selection or take a gamble on what CX have given me or hope that i have a better choice on check in

What is the view of 42A I assume it's slightly back over the wing?

Hi, I have a late booking in 2 weeks and there are no more window seats available. 12AK, are shown as unavailable on seat selection and as taken on EF. If I call in and the seats are available can they assign the seats to me? Would they tell me whether they seats are actually taken or blocked? If not taken but can't be assigned would they become available at OLCI, or only at airport check in? Thank you!

Hmm, 19A just opened up.

Aerolopa says 19AK only has one window but this pic shows there are two?

Edit: Aerolopa has updated the map and added in the missing rear window

19A/K have normal windows. I sit in them fairly regularly, including twice last week.

Are you planning to take seat 19A? I’ve also booked 19A on my return flight from HKG to MAD on 01-MAR-2026. I booked the ticket about a month ago, and at that time 19A and 20A were the only window seats available but now all seats were booked.

I’ve read some reviews mentioning that both seats are close to the galley, so I’m curious about your experience.

By the way, on 12-FEB-2026, I’ll be flying from LHR to HKG on a Boeing 777-300ER, and my seat is 11A. If you need any information for future reference, I’d be happy to share.

Hey Wolken,

Yep took 19A but might switch to 12A at check in if it's available..

For your HKG-MAD see if you can get a right (K) window as the sun will be coming in from the left...

Fully booked HKG–MAD on 01-MAR-2026. How about the HKG–BCN flight on 10-MAY-2026? There are still seats by the right-hand window. Which one would you recommend?

Many times on CX A350-900 J but first time in the small cabin... I booked last minute and got 20K (first row in the small cabin, window, starboard). I read above many scary messages that the passage of PEY and Y passengers to the toilet in the middle of the J section is continued and very burdensome... does everyone agree? BRU-HKG is a (sort of) day flight and 13 hours...

Unfortunately the whole first section is complete so I have no chance of changing seats, unless there is a change in someone's plans...

Thanks!

Solo seating dilemmas

Scoured this thread and don't think I can figure out the best move - so here goes!
  • Solo traveller, first time on Cathay in J in a couple of weeks
  • Am currently booked on the A350, in one of the centre seats (17D). My partner was going to come and now can't so I'm stranded in one half of a pair. All the window seats are gone.
  • I could switch to the day before, to either (A) A350, 23K is the last window seat available per expertflyer - last row in biz on the right. Or (B) Aria, 19K or 23K last window seats available, in the second cabin.
I'm a side sleeper, some mild reservations about the reported tight footwell on the Aria, and these would all be night-ish flights. What would you do?? A or B or stick with what I've got. Classic decision paralysis where all of them are basically great, whilst all having different minor downsides
