Thanks CarefreeBA for advice regards 60A. This is an absolute great seat. And posting some pics below for anyone else looking to book it. Hope that is ok.

This is 60A? I just selected this seat for CX659 HKG-SIN. Hopefully, I'll get the same seat as you. I'm assuming the IFE needs to be pulled up and is stored to the right of your leg?

Is there a power outlet? If so, where? Where is the USB port?

I gotta make up my mind soon and I need advice whether I should stick with 60A on CX659 HKG-SIN. 40K is still available. 41A is also available. 60K is available as well. My only concern as a BA Gold/OWE is that I won't get the meal I want since I am sitting so far back. Maybe I can ask the FA to give me my meal sooner?

In my experience on the A359, meal service for the second economy cabin starts from the back. Orders for CX elites are taken (and served first) if sitting in the front of the second cabin. YMMV for OWE. Whereas meal service starts from the front in the first economy cabin.

I've flown CX a bunch of times this year as a BA Gold/OWE. Unfortunately, I haven't paid much attention to the meal service. I was greeted and acknowledged flying MNL-HKG, HKG-PVG, and PVG-HKG. Sadly, nobody cared who I was flying YVR-HKG and HKG-YVR.

you don稚 get a choice for meals on 659 in Y

If a special meal was not indented, everyone gets the same doggy bag with a sandwich, cake, cookie, drink and fruit cup.

Power outlet is below your seat. USB port is on your IFE screen

Interesting re YVR as I and a dozen or so others that I know and who fly to from Canada ex HK have often mentioned/experienced that the service on the route was 9nferior from the Cathay norm.
I use to fly the route a couple of times a year pre Covid and found the same. basically they were often lazy and some mildly aggressive
Certainly at that time many of the c crew seemed to be Canadian based -but am not certain on this.

I flew KUL-HKG today and Wenny the FA acknowledged me. Good service on this flight.

I don't think CX has a Canadian base anymore.

To answer my own question, 40AB has excellent legroom. Flew HKG-ORD Able to stretch out and touch the wall with your toes if you try, but plenty of room to get out for walk/toilet visits, without bothering 40C.
My experience--
Was greeted by 2 FAs as a OWE, friendly enough. Meals were out of choices when they got to me in the first row of Y (guess they serve from the back?). Bathrooms filthy by end of flight.
Comparison--just one example, one flight each way--
Comparison of HKG-ORD on CX to SFO-SIN on SQ last week-- CX first meal was better than SQ. SQ bathrooms much, much cleaner, both on 15 hour plus flights.
Service on both was excellent! CX First Class Lounge (The Pier) was absolutely fantastic. SQ had no status, so no comparison there.

Now in 60A. Great legroom and window seat, but a tad narrow due to screen in armrest. Will do just fine for SIN-HKG short hop.

Is 46H good on the A35K B-LXx fleet . CX890/899 pre covid question

Saw my mother's boarding pass on CX840 December 13 2022 she had 46H is that a good seat to be on the A35K? Seatmate had 46J which came from CX906 11am out of MNL T3
For those that actually did EWR-MNL via HKG which includes the A359 B-LRx B-LQx segment CX890/899 what was the good seat to be in there? Because it's the same plane used on CX840/843 connect to MNL T3 CX907/906 from HKG.

What is the best J seat on the A350-900 in terms of outside view for the photo?

Flying the same SIN-HKG route and am wondering is it possible to get out to the aisle seat by squeezing through the gap in row 59 or do I have to walk through aisle 60.

As a regular of 60A/K, I can confirm the squeezing method works very well. Just make sure you don稚 accidentally bump 59A/K痴 IFE screen!

JFSV Jun 8, 2024 10:05 pm

Agree. The main issue is if the person on 59 has the screen out, in which case the little escapeway is a tad narrower. But can be done carefully/slowly.

Speaking of, the last SIN-HKG and reverse flights were quite empty to be honest. Half of the Y cabin in the back was all empty.

How accurate are the window alignments on Aerolopa? That's my first criteria of choice when picking a seat :p I'll be flying BCN-HKG in Y+ and picked 31K.

I flew on CX's a359s multiple times since December. The first time, I flew CX198 in December on an A359 and my seat 45K supposedly had good window alignment, according to aerolopa so I was pretty happy about that... little did I know that the window alignment was actually rubbish until I boarded

On my next few flights, I chose 43A and those did have good window alignment, despite aerolopa showing kinda bad alignment. Aerolopa is usually a good source, but for CX a350s, it's not really. For Y+, it looks like for 31K you have to lean forward slightly to see out the window and it should be good, but for 32K it looks like the window is directly beside the seat with the headrest at the same depth as the back of the window. I think it's down to personal preference, but it's very easy to check by just searching for Cathay Pacific a350-900 premium economy, and you can see it in the photos of the cabin.
