Fleet information sheet working! Contact us if you'd like editing access.
All, after a few snafus I'm glad to say the CX Fleet and Configuration link is working...and sustainable!
Problems we had earlier were alleviated by making the sheet private. However, we would like dedicated CX FT forum members to have access...all our brains are better than just a few, especially since busy schedules means sometimes we can't dedicate time to FT for days (or weeks!) at a time. We prefer to have multiple dedicated editors. If you are a regular here and would like editing access, please contact our moderator sxc or me (qrc3288) via FlyerTalk private message. You will need to provide us with a valid email address, which we will use to give editing access to the CX Fleet and Configuration Google sheet. And if you don't want to be an editor, no problem either. As a reminder the edit-able version is here: CX Fleet and Configuration Info - edit-able version (in read-only mode for everyone unless your email address has specifically been given editing access), And the "published" version is here: CX Fleet and Configuration Info - published version The information is identical and you may want to bookmark whichever displays better on your device. |
[thumbs up]
QRC3288 and sxc thanks very much for your effort~~ |
KA details are now included in the fleet guide
All, I have updated the fleet / configuration / route guide with KA. So now CX and KA information are back online, and in the same place.
Cathay and Cathay Dragon Fleet Guide and Configurations Due to some stale data, I have deleted all route info except for 33R to PEK. I'm sure some of this data is a little off right now, because I'm copying from a 6-month old web snapshot of the now-defunct Wiki Flyerguide. So anything you see that is off, please let us know here, or send sxc, cxfan1960 or me a direct message via Flyertalk to become an editor. We welcome all regular forum members here to do so! |

Two things: 1. Link in the above post is wrong: https://goo.gl/YPyOtX will do 2. KA908/9 has gone for good.... Now is CX332/1 |

Two things: 1. Link in the above post is wrong: https://goo.gl/YPyOtX will do 2. KA908/9 has gone for good.... Now is CX332/1 ...and can I convince you to become an editor?? If so, send me DM via Flyertalk. The sole downside is you must share an email address, and that address will be known to all editors of the sheet. (It will not, however be known to anyone without editing access). You are welcome to make an anonymous email to do so if privacy is a concern. Most email domains work, except ironically Flyertalk domain emails! |
Regional Asian flights (like MNL) for the A350 are not listed?

The scheduled A350s to MNL, TPE, SGN and BKK are facing near-daily equipment swaps. I flew back from TPE recently: I was scheduled A359, then same day swap to 77W, and ended up on A333. If service becomes more regular - or we get enough editors !! - then it's possible. However, with regional destinations on longhaul planes it's difficult given the swaps and constantly changing schedules.....unless we get enough people willing to make the constant changes necessary to keep the spreadsheet accurate! Calling more editors! (there are currently only 3). |

For now, given the variability of the regional schedules and the small sub-fleet size (5 A350s), we've decided to keep long-haul only flights for those birds. (and all the other long-haul birds). The only schedules we maintain regionally for now are the 773, because the bird only flies regionally and there are a lot of them. We also should get 33P up, but it's not there yet.

I suggest that just omit the regional destinations but leave in the regional destinations the A350 flies as well as the 77W with F to HND as the A350 only does select regional destinations while the rest of the fleet goes to all regional destinations.
I'm not sure this has been brought up, but the A350 will be doing KIX in January. |

Maybe we can add the regional destinations as a "Note".

The hard part about including the 77Ws is the split between 77G and 77H, and also that they go everywhere these days given the slack in the fleet (77H is appearing everywhere: even irregularly to SYD, KUL, PEK, PVG, CGK, PVG, NGO recently, etc. etc.). The note would basically be every destination CX flies in Asia, bar one or two. The short-haul schedule is really hard to parse and I'm afraid, without more editors we won't be able to keep up with the regional changes flown by long-haul birds. Like the news about Osaka below, and I'm sure there will be many more like this in the near future just given how many A350 deliveries are on the way. CX has a ton of upcoming A359 slots for delivery. But I'll go with whatever gets edited in there, as long as it can stay reliably accurate! I think what we want to avoid is some really detailed changes getting made, and then frequent CX schedule changes (combined with infrequent document edits) means the document goes stale quickly. The long-haul destinations and 773/33P regional destinations seem very stable. Where the A359, 77H and 77G fly change dependent on the long-haul schedules.

Perhaps we should just include it for the A350 as its a fairly new plane and people might want to try it.

noted. my feeling is that, true there are only 5 now and it only flies to SGN, MNL, TPE, BKK and SIN. But the truth is, within 6 months there are likely to be 13+, and eventually this bird will be as common as A333s and 77Ws in the fleet. It will fly everywhere.
