Brief CX Experience report
As I noted on another thread, I flew CX 251 HKG to LHR in J on 30th May.
Reading some of these threads, I had an expectation that I would be in an antique plane with bits of the hardware falling off all around. It was NOT like that.
My experience......
SWMBO and I enjoyed the lounge. (Wing J lounge). Speedy service and good options. SWMBO liked the Moet. I stuck to Sauvignon Blanc, after lots of Barrista type coffee. We spent longer than many in there, and it was fine. Seats were harder to find from about 10.45 pm.
I inspected the Cabin lounge, but it was not as good, IMHO.
On the plane....
Service on the plane was very good indeed, with proactive CC and personal greetings.
I cannot see how the service could have been improved. it was that good.
Food was good.
Wine was very good, (for 37,000 ft up, where all our tastes change.) A Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc and a robust Aussie Shiraz.
Every little bit of the hardware worked, and nothing was falling off. Nothing was dirty. I managed to run over my shoes with the flat bed mechanism, but that was my fault.
The film choices were not brilliant for me, as I had seen the ones on offer, but if I want to see movies, I go to the cinema!!
All in all, a 91/2 out of 10 experience. (9.5 out of 10).

I wish more people understood this. Obviously certain carriers like SQ or whatnot may do better in some categories but overall I still find CX to be one of the best and most consistent airlines worldwide.

Some of us are complaining because we've seen a dramatic decline in standards over the last 5-10 years.
And of course some of us are quite spoiled. And picky. Including myself.

I hope the good food was something else/the main that redeemed for the 'savory dips' and 'seasonal berries in ginger syrup'...
