How does stopover?
I meant to post "how does stopover work"
My understanding is that if I fly yvr-hkg-tpe-hkg-yvr i can stopover twice in HKG?
But the MPC agent keep telling me that TPE is a stopover, therefore I can only stopover once in HKG instead of the planned twice.
Is that true or did I misunderstand something?

So in my case any suggestions on how can I max out my ticket and get 2 stopover and 1 openjaw?

they still wont let me have 2 stopovers in hkg
So I end up changing it to yvr-hkg-tpe//khh-hkg-yvr which with an openjaw they let me have 2 stopovers. I guess thats the only way to max out my itinerary.
RMQ is closer but CX/KA only have afternoon and i was aiming for an late night flight

Be careful. If you book say XXX - HKG - YYY on AM redemption, the website will immediately give you CONNECTING flights, meaning arrival into HKG and departure from HKG are within 24 hours.
Once the ticket is issued and you want to now STOPOVER in HKG for more than 24 hours by changing either the inbound or outbound segments or both - this will necessitate a REISSUANCE that costs 10,000 AM or US$100 and not just a simple REBOOKING that costs 1,000 AM or US$25.
Same if you are to change in reverse from connecting flights over 24 hours to those that are within 24 hours.
Once the ticket is issued and you want to now STOPOVER in HKG for more than 24 hours by changing either the inbound or outbound segments or both - this will necessitate a REISSUANCE that costs 10,000 AM or US$100 and not just a simple REBOOKING that costs 1,000 AM or US$25.

When is it reinsurance and when is it rebooking?
Is it rebooking on the same flight so no itinerary change but reinsurance is sector changes?

I Just got tickets for LAX - HKG - PEK - HKG - LAX. As a mlti City flight, because is more easy that way and i only end up paying 7 usd more for each ticket.
I am staying in HKG most of the time, just 2 days in PEK (i think is like 14-28 april HKG, 28-30 PEK, 30 april -5 May HKG)

- To change date and time of XXX - HKG - YYY is rebooking if HKG transit is still less than 24 hours.
- But if HKG transit is now changed to over 24 hours then it effectively becomes XXX - HKG and HKG - YYY hence it's reissuance. Likewise vice versa, from transit of more than 24 hours to one of less than 24 hours.
- If you change to XXX - YYY direct bypassing HKG, then it's reissuance.
- If you reroute to XXX - AAA - YYY by going via AAA and not HKG, again it's reissuance.
If return ticket XXX - YYY - XXX, changing date or time of either XXX - YYY or YYY - XXX is rebooking.

Essentially, rebooking is something that does not require the cancellation of old ticket and reissuing of new ticket.
Say you book XXX - HKG - YYY where HKG is transit of less than 24 hours. Some examples:
