I doubt there's enough direct HKG traffic, but there might be enough transpacific traffic to consider SEA. But with 7 daily flights from the west coast, I doubt SEA would be the next expansion city.

SEA is very well connected to YVR, SFO and LAX and only provides hub services to AS, which doesn't really extend CX's reach beyond what AA can feed in through LAX.
If AS were to come in to OW that would make a difference, but it seems to me that PHX offers far more reach as a new US destination than SEA, and LAS would probably have far more O&D traffic, if there were a small enough bird with the legs for it.

I could see SEA being full of AS awards

SEA has supported single-carrier service to HKG in the past -- NW used to fly 742s on the route, up until the mid-1990s -- but I'm not sure there's enough demand for both DL and CX. Even though CX would have much better onward-travel options out of HKG, while DL has that edge for those arriving in SEA.

I know we discount pilot rumors around here, but a captain I spoke with last week said they've been told SEA will happen when the A350s arrive.

Zurich and Manchester were supposed to launch when the A350's come in, but CX wanted to fly there as soon as possible. I'm pretty sure that once the A350's start coming in, they will take the 77W's place.
I didn't even hear Boston being mentioned in the past, as a matter of fact, Dallas was supposed to be the next launch destination after Chicago, but we all know how that went.
