Waitlisted for First class Z award ticket
Hello all. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, I'm a MPC Gold member and I was able to get confirmed on an award ticket in first class (Z) from Manila-HK-SFO on December 11. My return however, on December 19, is waitlisted. I know it is still a long way off but what are my chances? I checked and as of today it's showing F5, A5. Would I have better luck trying for a biz class ticket or buying a premium eco/biz and trying for upgrade? Thanks in advance!

Hi may I ask is that every MPC member can waitlist up to 3 flights in one booking each way? Or this just apply to Go or above?

Hi! CX newbie here. I would like to redeem 2 J seats NGO / NRT -> HKG , seeing that they seem to be more likely to be available? I guess KIX is OK too as my travel date is Nov 23 or 24. and the airport should be OK by then.
I am buying revenue open jaw YYZ - Japan and HKG - YYZ to go with this. So the whole trip is YYZ - (rev) - Japan - (reward) - HKG - (rev) - YYZ Just now waitlisted for Nov 23 CX533 NGO-HKG CX527 NRT - HKG Apparently Nov 22, 23 are high demand days, in least in Y due to Japanese "Labour Thanksgiving" holiday, based on the ticket prices for those days. If someone can help me with these questions: - how soon / likely typically do these 2 clear? - what other Japanese routes / flights are more likely to have reward seats? Also I'll need a plan B in case the waitlist doesn't clear before I depart for Japan, as they would need onward ticket to board the flight. - LCC tickets are non-refundable and they suck (~200USD ) . I don't like this. - HK Airlines 380 USD and 100 USD penalty. I have no confidence with their refund processing. - CX 500-600 USD and refundable with 200 USD penalty. Is there additional handling fee on top? Any suggestion? Or is the whole idea of trying to redeem that one way flight to go with the trip not a good one? Thanks. |

Would like a quick flight load check on CX161 - 7/10/18 in J.
Given it's only days away, should I start to consider alternative arrangements? Thanks in advance. |

Another question on waitlist priority:
I understand that higher MPC status means higher waitlist priority on an waitlisted award flight. But must the MPC member be traveling on the waitlisted itinerary? E.G. if I'm diamond and I waitlist a ticket for two non-status friends but I'm not traveling on that itinerary, will their waitlist clear in accordance to my status or theirs? |

My understanding is that a DM list member cannot open seats, but a DM could.
