Seating questions for PEY

Hi,

Can anyhow help me with these two questions?

1. For the first row of PEY, how much clearance is there for other pax who wish to cross over to the lav? The leg rest looks tempting but I'm wondering how practical it would be if there is a steady stream of pax crossing to/fro.

2. For the last row of PEY, is there sufficient space for recline? Is it limited in anyway?

Thanks!

I have taken PEY twice and each time the crossover has been a real pain in the neck. I would advise you to avoid the central section for this reason and to sit on the right side of the cabin to make access to the toilets easy.

This is for flight to/from SFO which uses 74K and 77H. FYI, those mentioned seats are my favorite seat, don't fight with me

First row in 77H, 31A is next to an emergency exit and you'll face the IFA when taking off or landing, lots of space to jump around but no window For 32K has shorter legroom but doable. My favorite seat in PEY

First row in 74K, 30A & 30K has shorter legroom but doable, also my favorites. Only one person to cross over. Avoid 31D-G, the long legroom causes everyone to use that space as a crossroad to the lavatory

My favorite on 77H is 32K. The toilet in front of you is no bother at all (door is on the opposite side) and is the perfect place to rest your feet on. The last time I flew PE I slept like 8hrs+ on a LAX-HKG flight on this seat
I'd avoid any of 30D-G as many use the space in front to cross over.

I had several long flights on the last row of PEY, I like them. The recline is the same. I recline anytime I like without disturbing anybody. You can store pillows, blankets and coats in the space at the back of your chairs. Only thing is the opening and closing of the separating curtain.

use your roll aboard to discover cross-overs, taking off your socks and shoes helps too!

At around 6'1"/183cm, the legrest in the first row of PEY doesn't do anything for me. I sat in that row once, and never again. It seems not to be designed for people that tall. Also, we keep seeing complaints about the fold-up IFE screens not working properly.

I generally like 32G or 33G, although I bet this will be a controversial choice. My thinking is:

-- I'm on the same side as the lav, so no need to cross in front of row 30.
-- I'm far enough back that the forward-facing entrance to the lav isn't an annoyance.
-- I'm far enough forward to be less bothered by noise from EY.
-- The middle seats are likely to be assigned last, so as a solo traveler a slightly greater chance of an empty seat next to me.

Thanks for all your views. I am traveling in a party of 6 and so trying to get everyone seated near/next to each other while bearing in mind all the pros and cons will be a challenge. Right now I'm tending towards the group of 6 32hk through 34hk as 31hk (these are on a 77h) as 31h is shown as occupied at the moment. I'm guessing it's being held in case the bassinet is required though I note that 31k is shown as available

Bulkhead has the advantage of the proper footrest which is much more comfortable than the one on other rows. When I flew the 77H, there was tonnes of space between where the feet ended and the bulkhead wall. As long as the person isn't clumsy, they won't trip or anything.

given that im not super tall and do give people the eye for any disturbance, noone would walk across me (even if they have already walked pass 3 seats). it just wouldnt happen. unless you can walk over my legs when its sticking up over.
I love the first row. I'd take E/F over any other seat.

Quick question. What alternative do passengers on the left side have to cross to the other side?

Walk back to use the lav in EY behind row 45.

Oh, I'm pretty sure I would walk over you. I am immune to glares.

I love to take off socks and shoes off on long haul flight especially when the lights are off and I am going to rest. However, an IFA explained nicely to me that it's rude, doesn't look good on us(Asian) and I stopped doing that. I'm sure my foot doesn't smell. Well, I still take off my shoes but use the socks provided in the in-flight amenities.

What do you folks think?
