Selecting a seat in First
Just went to the CX website as it's now 180 days out from my flight and looked at the available seats on my JFK-HKG flight.
I've got a choice of 2D only with all the other seats showing as not available.
Does this mean every other seat has already been pre-assigned or have Cathay decided I'm sitting in the middle of the cabin? (really wanted a window view).

I think the advice in the above thread still holds. So with your CX booking reference number, call ur local CX number and see if you can be put into any other seat. From my experience, CX wouldn't block 1A/K from being booked unless they were genuinely occupied by someone.
If you really want to guarantee a window view (something that is more than understandable), you may need to move to another flight

Easy enough. After a few minutes on hold, eventually go through to someone who told me I could have any seat except for 1a as that was taken. Took 1k so hopefully some nice views....
