Potential Misconnect
I am booked on CX on a AA award (F to HKG, and J from HKG to CMB) later this summer from LAX to HKG on CX885 connecting to CX 703. Right now assuming the schedules don't change I have 65 minute connection as CX 855 is due in at 6:55 pm and CX 703 departs at 8:00 pm the same day. I noticed in checking the on time performance of CX 855 it is only on time about 50% of the time.
What happens if I misconnect in HKG? In checking schedules, there is only one CX flight a day so I'd have to wait a full day unless CX would put me on another carrier to get me to CMB more quickly.

Over a 2 week period the flight was only significantly late enough to affect your flights once. Relax. If your flight is going to be that late departing you'll know and be proactive by arriving early at the airport for possible reroute.

Thanks to everyone for their advice. I've made a flight in HKG where I originated in HKG and got my boarding pass at the ticket counter only 30 minutes before departure (my flight was cancelled and they put me on another airline to ensure I made my connection) so I know tight connections are possible in HKG.
I will have a change of clothes in my carryon because there is only one flight a day between HKG and CMB.

There is a significant risk as lots of things can conspire to delay a long haul flight. And don't forget that your bags may not make it even if you do. I had a 1 hour 10 mins connection 2 days ago, and my bags failed to make it. They were placed on the following flight 3.5 hours later so I wasn't too fussed. But if you have only 1 flight a day, I'd suggest packing a change of clothes in your hand luggage.
At the end I only had like 40 minutes to catch my TPE bound flight. We were escorted through "special" channel to the gate. Not only I managed to catch my flight, so did my luggage.

You stand a very god chance to make your flight. If you don't CX will take care of you for the night. Unfortunately, there will be no alternative for that night. Next day will be 703 or 711 (4pm but one stop). Assuming that you have a proper passport you can then enjoy HK for a few hours.
