Changing dates on tickets
Hi guys,
I've just been told that I have to commence a journey before I'm able to make changes to the return portion of the itinerary - dates/flights on same day (booked in M Class).. When was this policy introduced because I had no problem doing that in December when I wanted to change my ticket and it was also in a lower fare class..
Thanks

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.3.6; en-us; GT-I9210 Build/GINGERBREAD) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)
When are you originated from and what's the trip about? how you buy the ticket and where you called asking for change? It all factors.

I just wanted to retime my flight so I'd have longer in SYD - options are never given when booking online for longer transits through SYD. I called the Marco Polo line and was transferred to reservations and neither said they could help me. Would trying the Cantonese line to get someone from HK really make a difference in this situation?
I'll try to fix it during my layover at HKG anyway so it doesn't matter too much.. Just for future reference.

You still didn't say if it is origin is where nor the iten so it is hard for us to give you any help. For example many ex-USA ticket has a "first sector cannot change" requirement.

There are many possibilities / reason for that
- Ticket change will trigger re-issuance (change from transit to stopover)?
- Agent is too green for handling complicated ticket
- Fare rule restrict on specific flight
- Calling the wrong guy: PLEASE always call wherever you purchase the ticket before your first sector commence (online = eService Center, NOT Reservation)
There are many possible issues / possibilities around that and the best for you is call a lot and ask a lot....
