You can also try to route through TYO. Depending on where you are heading, there are still seats left if you don't mind doing a transit through non-oneworld carriers. Just make sure you leave plenty of time between your ex-HKG flight and your flight to TYO. From HND you can take the late night or early morning flight to SFO/LAX/JFK. Of course they will probably quite costly. Routing through ICN is another option too.

Not dm so i probably wont get any type of priority. Im guessng they can't rebook me to tyo? Id have to buy a new tix for it!

Thx for helping me find alternative. I understand the severiety of what has happened and am just lookin at options. I could potentially be stuck here or a while. Instead of just sitting here in total choas and not being able to hear announcemens clearly, im trying to figuring out my options. I appreciate all the suggestions!

Doesn't hurt to ask but direct oneworld HND flights are full. But NH1172 still have some opening in relatively low booking classes. You can probably catch their late night connecting flight to LAX on Jul 25

NH1172
J/4 C/4 D/4 Z/4 P/4
Y/4 B/4 M/4 U/4 H/4 Q/4 V/4 W/4 S/0 L/0 K/0 N/0

NH1006
J/4 C/4 D/3 Z/1 P/1
Y/2 E/2 B/2 M/2 U/2 H/2 Q/2 V/2 W/2 S/1 L/0 K/0 N/0

If searched as married segments, lowest booking class available is V

Can probably help more if you can tell us where you want to go to.

But in response to OP's question, I suppose confirmed pax for today's flights will still fly as scheduled right?

And stranded pax will be filled in every seat that's left, on CX or other carrier?

I thik this is whats gong to happen. With tne long wait at the check in line, some passengers may miss the flight, opening th door for some of us to board earlier flights. There will soon be 4-5 hrs wait to check baggage outside soon.

I was bumped from my flight 4-5 years ago for standby passenger.

Well, that flight's a B747. Should be OK. Maybe it was a full load flight too which meant they probably used the weight for balance.

btw, late night departures kept on being marked on time. I think I even saw "boarding" or "gate-closing" statuses on flights like SQ2 and CX880, but as of now they are either marked as delayed to 24/7 afternoon, or cancelled. Does that mean that those flights actually made it onto the apron last night but winds were too strong and the pilots finally decided to head back to the gate?

Sorry I have no idea. You can try calling CX at the same time while waiting in line...but seats might be gone by then

Cx dont even pick up phone.. I think they are bombarded. 3 hrs in line and still a long way out.. Sigh.....

We will arrive in HKG this friday afternoon and have a connecting flight to BKK later that evening. Will the typhoon problems still be around at that time? thanks for the help!

They have lowered the signal once again. YOu should be fine as long as your have a confirmed reservation. There could be some delays due to aircraft routing but shouldn't have any major problems.

I'm quite certain that by Friday all the out of place aircrafts will be back in their correct places
