yes and AA has premium economy option now IIRC so not sure if it's EF not following the news or CX hasn't informed everybody

AA does offer certain preferred seats for a fee (for those non-elites not travelling on full-fare), but not the kind of Y+ that CX, BA, and QF offers.

They have UA kind of Y+ loaded into their reservation systems now, not just preferred seats

Yes, MCE, but it is not a separate class and does not have separate fare buckets. Even though I do not use ExpertFlyer, I am sure the way AA and UA do it would not present a problem for seat map display.

Expert Flyer does show Y+ in the seat maps even though it is not designated as such; just look for the section with 2-4-2 (rows 30 -34 on the 77D). In the availability I believe it is displayed at fares classes W, R and E.

To our knowledge, CX isn't putting PE in a cabin separate from Economy. For example:

It is a separate cabin. However, in viewing seat maps, if one enters W, E, R, or T class Y+ seats will show as available while Y seats will show as blocked, whereas if you enter Y, B, H, K, ..., X class Y+ seats will show as blocked whereas Y seats will show as available. Don't know how ExpertFlyer work but apparently the above seat map shows all Y+ seat blocked so is pulled from an Y inventory. If W, E, R, or T class can be chosen the display will be different. Don't know how ExpertFlyer work but apparently the above seat map shows all Y+ seat blocked so is pulled from an Y inventory. If W, E, R, or T class can be chosen the display will be different. We added the PE cabin, here are the results:

I was looking for seat map on CX873 in July 7, w/ the aircraft as 77W. Is that seat map correspond to a Premium Economy?

It looks similar to this seat map with premium economy:

CX 873 on July 7 does not have a PE cabin, regardless of what the equipment code is, as there are no W,E,R classes being sold on that flight. Also the economy cabin on that flight ends in row 67, not 72, so that is not the same aircraft.

If a PE cabin exists on a CX flight, ExpertFlyer can now show it.

The only problem is that PE shows all of PE and Y, and Y shows all of PE and Y as well. So it's not really ideal.

It may not be ideal however it is accurate as to what CX offers. What CX is literally telling you is which seats are valid for selection for a given fare class code in the Economy cabin, of which PE is a part of. Finnair does something similar with their discount vs full-fare economy tickets.

Understood. Here's another question. A number of seats are marked "P" for "Paid and Premium". However, there doesn't seem to be a good reason for this. Do you know why?

Did you confuse yourself between "P" and "#" (which I don't see).
