Well...you still need to be at least 2 years old to join AM, and from a reservation / ticketing persepctive 2-year-olds are not infants.

Precisely my point!

me and my sister are both very frequent travellers and we usually make QF SG although last year we stayed home for all the holidays so are status went back down to sliver, and then this year bronze :roll eyes:

I dont understand why I can't atleast try for SL? I mean I would easily get GO...

Hope everyone makes status this year :P

If you fly coach domestic in US on AA and are a CX DM...they treat you like a nobody.

So it was actually interesting to be comp-upgraded thanks to my 7th years old who was Platinum. The sad reality, if you have the AA program and fly eco, you need a ticket in Y,B,H on CX to earn miles on AA...pretty ridiculous!

But I have to admit CX FA have always had fun seeing a 7 years old saphire member.

We had the same fun on Thai!

Oh, and for info, we are of those who fly Y...and hope for the comp-upgr...would love to find it natural to fly F, but that's in another life...

Simply, CX knows that you are not going to fly your children cargo on the same plane
That means you need to pay
The kids can join Asiamiles but cannot any longer have MPO i.e status
so if you want to take them in the lounge with you and everyone has Y tickets you can take in only 1 - Gold or two of them if you are Diamond in HK airport.

Hi Marco Polo, actually, I always had been told by CX staff in lounges that kids do not count as 1 guest when you enter the lounge. I never try to bring 12 at the same time though! So lounge access is really not an issue while flying CX. But it does become one when you fly on OneWorld, as the kids to than count as 1 kid= 1 guess....which makes it way more tricky!

I have flown many times with my wife and 2 kids and overseas CX agents have considers its as DM + 2 Guests and tell me that they cannot grant me the addition access to the lounge. from HKG its fine, but from overseas i have to always speak to a supervisor to request for the additional, that means they do count 1 child = 1 guest...

I am not sure what you mean, but kids above 12 years old pay the same price as adults, so denying them MPO membership does seem unfair.
