Upgrades using AM on BA

Hi All,

I did a search but couldn't find the answer. If I wanted to upgrade SYD-SIN or SYD-BKK return on BA using asiamiles, what are the miles required for a upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy and also from Premium Economy to Club World? Also how do I find out availability? Is it the same as a full award ticket or are upgrades different?

Cheers,
K.

Thanks! Obviously my searching skills are not very good!
I called up AM but they said it's 22500 asiamiles required to upgrade from Y to Y+ and also Y+to J on BA return. That seems like a great deal.... The above website doesn't show miles required for this type of upgrade on BA?

Thanks for the info Looks like the BA upgrades are a good deal if we can get our hands on a good WT+ fare to upgrade to Club World.

Does anybody know how to get the awards on BA through CX? I've phoned up and currently nothing available / no idea when availability comes up and told you cant waitlist

I would need to phone on a regular basis - is there a better way?

Yes. Use KVS Tool and you can check the award availability yourself so that you know before calling whether or not it's open.

Yes, it costs money. Yes, it's totally worth it. I've used it 3 times to successfully check availability for BA upgrades.

Thanks for that...all looked good until it said its Windows only. As I'm OSX, will need to bootcamp / parallels unless there are any other solutions out there

For those that are cheap like me and have a few minutes of time on their hands, information about BA award/upgrade inventory can be found free online at a number of sources, no need to pay KVS for it. BA's own website is probably the easiest place to start; the inventory BA use for awards and upgrades is the same, so you can just search for a business class award on the segment you want to upgrade and the site will tell you if it's available, and there's a decent calendar feature if you have more flexibility before you purchase.

Many KVS Tool members use CrossOver for Mac to run it:

Indeed, KVS just screen scrapes BA.com. Other sources like http://AwardNexus.com do the same but have a free version for FT members and no Windows app to download.
