CX cut cost plan

should CX stop the cut cost scheme on flight services*?
*This phenomenon can be seen on long-haul flights.

depends on what service you are about, food or other goods?

Probably not until CX can sell its seats at a higher price again. You get what you pay for (although I hate that cost-cutting measures, too.) :(

First Derek2010 wants GR to use Arrival Lounge, and now he wants CX to restore cabin services. Derek2010 is a brave soul indeed... that must be a heck of a phone call he made to MPC... :D

I really doubt that even if CX can charge people at pre-Bird Flu levels that services would be restored. You will never see Y-amenities kit again for example. CX has realized the new business model: don't be the best just be slightly better than your major competitions.

But then I thought its major competitiors still provide Y amenity kit. I know SQ doesnt do that anymore. Correct me if I am wrong

Not passing out the Y amenity kits is cost cutting, but few people care. They are still available upon request.

The worst move was to use pastries product for breakfast and snacks. I hated it.

We have been careful to review passengers’ reaction to all the changes we’ve made.

We have already resumed hot breakfasts in Economy Class on all regional departures before 10am.

Where breakfast is a second meal on our longer sectors we currently serve a continental breakfast to most ports (London and North America are exceptions). We reviewed this recently and hope to resume hot breakfasts in Economy Class across the long-haul network. Similarly, we hope to enhance Economy lunch and dinner meals on our regional flights.

Many of our passengers have commented about the environmental benefit of our removing Economy Class kits and most passengers bring their own fullsize toothbrush! We therefore do not propose to reintroduce these items.

Wow... how true is it?

Well, commented could still means negative comment but they just do their own way. :p

I have asked for it first thing I board, and I'm usually the first 10 pax that boards the plane. And the answer is always: "Sorry, we no longer give that out." So I really question the "they stock 20 Y amenities for people who asks" theory.

Maybe you have better luck here:

Note: I am not promoting it, instead I just can't believe this is happening.

I am surprised. The FP actually asked me whether I wanted one on one of the flights in June. I declined as I never use it (but I understand some people do). Perhaps they are not stocking anymore after they ran out. I think they should stock some.

I saw that on auction before too. Don't worry. Cathay Boy has some J amenity kits already, but just not too many people bring their own amenity kits on board.
