CX 77Ws in the fleet

Now I've noticed B-KPR is in the fleet, what is next? Could that replace the A343 on LHR's flight slot for the Winter Timetable?

As far as I know the 77As have already replaced the 34Bs on the LHR route.

Or they might replace the 744 on the YVR or SFO route, just my speculation

CX still has 13 77Ws to come so the registrations will go further than B-KPZ.

So how many 77Ws will CX have by December 2010?

Well IMHO, maybe CX838/839 may be replaced. If ORD and EWR come online that could be another possibility if they just wanna keep the 74A at SFO 2x daily.

Are there any rumors for EWR to come online or are you just teasing me?

Admittedly I'm not a New Yorker, but I always wondered about European carriers which fly from both JFK and EWR. Is there that much of a difference?

I have talked about this before (but apparently a few New Yorkers disagrees with me here), but bare in mind I have lived in NYC, Northern NJ, Mid-Jersey, Philadelphia, and now I live in Eastern Pennsylvania (yes, I love to move.)

But here goes, most people living outside of NYC hates going to JFK because it is always a risk of traffic jam going to JFK. Also, JFK to Manhattan is not an easy commute either. Going Belt Parkway up BQE to the bridges is guarantee traffic. Going up Grand Central Pkwy to LIE west is also traffic nightmare most of the day.

EWR on the other hand is a great place to fly. It is easy to get to from Eastern Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, South- Mid- and North- Jersey. Also, landing in EWR is only 30-40 minutes to Manhattan depending on tunnel traffic. You can go up GW Bridge, Lincoln Tunnel, Holland Tunnel, etc.

I know for a fact most people living outside of NYC in Jersey, Philly, Pennsylvania, etc. would absolutely not go to JFK. My peers think I'm crazy going to JFK just to fly CX.

Hell no Im not teasing you. I heard these rumors. Well they kept ORD a rumour though. What if they put a 77W to ORD which may leave SFO double daily 744 for awhile.

From my observations and experience, CO's EWR-HKG flight is usually 1-2 hours delayed due to ATC.

JFK is not exactly a model for on-time departures. It took Federal intervention to begin to clean up the mess (FAA limited number of flights per slot per airlines.)

In most of my travels to/from NYC, including 2 years living in Manhattan, I've flown in/out of JFK over 80% of the time. I'd probably agree with you on the relative accessibility of the major airports - if you've got to cross bridges and tunnels, it can be a problem. If you're in NJ, PA, or even Westchester County (if you go on the Palisades), EWR is probably a lot more convenient. And nowadays EWR has a lot more flights than in the old days, too.

Historically, I haven't had too much problems going to/from JFK, though a lot of that was due to visiting my relatives in Queens, though only on about 2-3 trips to JFK to destinations in Manhattan was it really slow.

Yes, for people in NJ, Philly, PA, and to a certain extend upstate NY, there's really no incentive to go to JFK and risk traffic nightmare.

Going from JFK to Queens isn't that bad, but try to go west into Manhattan and it's a nightmare.
