Trouble using Asiamiles on AA
Newbie question: I have tried twice now to use my Asiamiles for award flights (roundtrip economy class) on AA. Both times have been unsuccessful, and I've been told by email that
I've tried BOS-JFK and BOS-MIA. Is there some way to look up what AA flights are eligible without having to wait 36 hours for someone to tell me that I just plain can't use the miles? I have tried as long as 8 months in advance, and this most recent time was about 6 weeks in advance.
This is to let you know that there are no award seats currently
available on your preferred flights and dates and our partner airline,
American Airlines, does not operate a waiting list for award seats.
I have also checked alternative flights and dates close to those you
have requested but could not find anything suitable.

On this note, has anyone used Asiamiles to upgrade on AA codeshares operated by AY, e.g. JFK-HEL-JFK ? The Asiamiles website says to call them to confirm if this codeshare is allowed for AM use, but I haven't been able to get through on their US number on a couple of recent attempts.

The best way is to call them directly and keep them on the phone. I found AA agents to be very extreme in service: some will honestly check all flights for you, and others will check one or two, and give you the standard "no, no flights, call back in 2 days" garbage.
Trust me, I have AA creditcards and I deal with them much, and if you get a garbage agent on the phone the best way is to hang up and dial again hoping you get a responsible one.

For example, if "25K Economy Anytime" is the only one available, can I not use Asiamiles on that flight?
