CP Shuttle? U Class Question

I picked up a couple of CP business class award tickets last week (through AS). On all portions of the travel, the ticket says "Check-in Required" in place of seat assignment, so I have no way of knowing whether I am actually seated in Biz Class. For the YVR-YYZ and YQB-YVR portions, the class is listed as U. According to my info, this is a shuttle, seat guaranteed. What does this mean? Are these really considered shuttle flights? What does U class really mean. I plan to call to try to get a seat assignment, but would like to be armed with all the info I can beforehand. Thanks.

Enjoy your trip!

T and U classes of service are solely for CPlus award redemptions (U is up front and T in the back). As far as your seat assignment goes, you can give a quick call to any Cdn reservation line and they can reconfirm your seat assignments for you - they are normally in the computer, however, your ticket will say "check-in req'd" which is annoying.

PointWeasel: Thanks for your response. I feel much better knowing that I am indeed booked "up front" since I had to ante up more miles for that pleasure. This will be my first CP flight. It's ironic, though, that I chose CP over many choices because there have been such rave reviews and now with the AC-CP event, this may not be the case after all. Oh well.

Most certainly these will be front cabin seats but you may still be on an AC flight to Quebec City by summer since the whole eastern Canadian services are being rationalized with AC dominating. This also means you may end up on an Airbus 319 instead of a Fokker F28 out of Toronto or Montreal (whichever is your intermediate point from YVR). Glad to hear you're all confirmed and that we'll see you in Montreal in July.

And as Pointweasel suggests, call Cdn and pre-book your seats. You'll still have to check in, etc. but you'll have them confirmed.
