Credit of points
Hi everyone, I am new to this Forum.
I want to know how long before points will appear on the online statement. I travelled on tues, 5/18 and points are still not there yet today, how long should I wait before calling Canadian.
Thanks.

In my experiences, they usually update my online statement in a short periods, usually within a week. So if I were you, I'll wait for few more days before calling the service center. However, you can also check whether they updated your account or not by phoning the CPlus hotline at 1-800-663-0290 (in Canada). A recorded message will tell you your current account status with transactions posted since your last summary statement. Hope this info help. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Please note that points are credited faster with Canadian and American Airlines. Other oneWorld carriers may take up to 2 weeks. Some airline partners even longer.
If you feel that your points are not being credited for any reason, there is no point in calling Canadian Plus. They would still require you to send in your original boarding pass and ticket to show proof of travel. A phone call will not get your miles credited.

Thanks for the Reply.
I got my points but also noticed that they stop giving upgrade as J class so didn't have the 25% bonus.

Well, it was nice while it lasted. I picked up some serious tier status miles with the 25% bonus.
My experience is that CP flights take 3-4 days to post, not including Sundays. AA is usually less than a week, and on a recent BA flight from LHR-HAM-LHR, each segment was posted the next day.
I'm not sure calling the Automated Voice Response line would give you any better info. My experience suggests that the points appear on-line at the same time they do on the voice line.

Ken Hamer

I only got to take advantage of it once. Actually, the last two times my points appeared on Sundays.
From your experience Ken, what is the best flight between YYZ and YVR to take that will almost have "sure" upgrade. I found that morning flights from YYZ always have a risk of no upgrade.

I rarely (perhaps never have) flown YYZ-YVR in the morning. I like to have the day available in Toronto, in case something comes up. And travelling in the late afternoon/early evening, and almost always get my upgrade.
I suspect that a lot of business types like to fly in the morning, because with time zone differences, they "appear" to land shortly after takeoff. If one had a meeting in Vancouver at noon, it would be easy, and probably perferable to leave Toronto at 8am to arrive in Vancouver at 10am, as opposed to leaving the night before and staying in a hotel.
So based on both our experiences, and a "buncha hunches" it sounds like the later in the day flights are better for upgrades.

A summary of my recent post to "Upgrades Question", also in Canadian Forum:
I'm convinced. Getting an upgrade on a morning flight between Toronto and Vancouver, in either direction, is becoming very difficult. This appears to be due to CP's success in selling J class tickets (for "real" money.)
