looking for sunscreen...
odd request i suppose but im looking for a specific sunscreen not avail in the u.s. yet in higher spf. i will be in toronto for one day..a sunday...and then spending most of a week in montreal. i am looking for la roche- posay sunscreen with anthelios sx...anything over 15 spf. can anyone help me find it?? obviously in toronto it would have to be somewhere open on a sunday. thanks in advance...pat

Presumably, you are looking for sunscreens containing Mexoryl, which has been used in Canada for some time, but was only recently approved by the FDA in the US.

you are correct i am looking for la roche posay anthelios sx with mexoryl sx ...if i understand correctly the fda approved it for sale in the us last fall..but only spf 15. hence my request for the product with higher 'octane' .. i have a skin condition and it has been recommended for me...thanks!!

I don't know if this is too late for you, but the high SPF formulas are available at Shopper's Drug Mart stores in the GTA. They'll be open on Sunday during the day. I've also seen it at my local Loblaw's (grocery store) behind the pharmacy counter. It's good stuff. I would avoid the spray-on formula if you have sensitive skin, but the Antihelios creams are great.

L'Oreal Ombrelle also contains Meroxyl and can be found at any SDM (= Pharmaprix in Montreal) or other pharmacy. It's cheaper than the LaRoche if price is a factor.
