Globe and Mail Delivery

Is anyone else having delivery problems this week with the Globe and Mail delivery? I am only getting it after calling in to report a non-delivery. Customer Service did say they are a bit behind this week, but that is different that no delivery at all.

Good thing they have an instant KK for all subscribers and will bring you one out that day.

Four straight Saturdays of non-delivery. Maybe it's because I didn't mail a tip to my carrier...

No problems in the city centre. Delivery by 5am each morning. NATIONAL POST is a problem from time to time while the STAR doesn't arrive until much later in the morning.

South Riverdale area: National Post and TO Star on my stoop every morning by 5:30 AM. No issues there ... must be the carrier! ^ Saturday - TO Star, Nat Post, G&M all there by 6:30 AM. Sunday: NY Times there by 6AM and often the night before! ^ ^

Sorry to hijack, but does anyone else here subscribe to the Economist? It drives me nuts that the magazine is available on newsstands on Thursday, but I don't get it until the following Tuesday or Wednesday, 1 or 2 days before the next one is available on newsstands?

And no, I don't live in the sticks, although the Riverdale dwellers may believe that north of the Danforth is the sticks...

My Globe finally came today. I chatted with the delivery guy when he brought it to the door. Apparently he has been having car problems this week, resulting in huge delays in getting started. Someone who was supposed to have helped him out, missed houses, streets etc. So not a Globe issue but a local carrier issue.

Nice guy, was genuinely sorry for the delay.

My girlfriend got me a subscription to the Sunday NYT for Christmas. I got one paper in six weeks before we decided to pack it in and get a refund. The people at Globe Distribution Services didn't seem too interested in getting to the bottom of the problem nor did they put up a fight when we insinuated that the issue would cause them to lose all our business. Oh well...

I've been comtemplating a sub to G & M for a while now. Can anyone tell me what the sub rates are and where to find the usual newspaper discounts if available? I'm pretty sure they're a part of the BCE conglomerate ... Good thing I recently ditched Bell services for Rogers.

I have the same problem - indeed it often arrives at my office in Oakville on the following Thursday or Friday.

I think it is pretty much standard for US magazines. I subscribed to Business Week - in US issue out Thursday.. and when i lived in the States, mail delivered on Friday the same week. In Toronto, it is delivered the next Tuesday the earliest.

Had the National Post in my stateroom on the Sapphire Princess bright and early on the 24th off the west coast of Mexico. Nothing like getting up and seeing Stephen Harper's smiling mug LOL.

In the hinterlands of Edmonton the Globe promises 7am delivery!! What a JOKE! If they could deliver by 5am like in other centres I would get it but I leave at 5:40am so 7am is just like afternoon delivery for me.

Globe and Mail monthly sub is $28.84 according to my latest CC bill.

I'm in the west end (home of the other new female Dipper MP) and no problems with delivery. G/M often arrives at 3am or so. This week they've also been delivering the NY Times. I'm a subscriber to the Sunday Times...maybe they are trying to entice me with the daily version....

I've missed maybe one Saturday a month for the last year... I've just given up on calling it in and have started thinking of it as ~$28 for weekday service, and any weekend edition is a bonus
