Layover for one night

Where can I find the best prices for a night layover at YYZ? Anything with free airport transfer. I am coming late and have an early morning domestic connection.

Hi,

I think the most convenient would be the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at Toronto airport which is connected to Terminal 3 and is close to the Terminal link train which connects the terminals

Regards

Having a hotel that is on the grounds of the airport and has access to Pearson's people mover is extremely convenient. But the convenience comes at a price.

You can search for hotels with a free airport shuttle service. And restrict your search either on a map or by distance from the airport proper, depending on the search engine. I would also advise searching the reviews for those facilities/amenities you care about (for me it is the breakfast buffet and the frequency/reliability of the airport shuttle),

I've personally used the Holiday Inn that is about 1km from the airport and depending on the date, get it for about 60% - 70% of the cost of the airport hotel. But I am a lifetime platinum ambassador with IHG and I get a lot of perks when I stay at an IHG property. I stay there because the breakfast is good, the shuttle is reliable and there is a Ruth Christ's Steakhouse within walking distance of the hotel. So I know I'll get a decent dinner as well. But these are my interests and I'm sure yours may e different.

Thank you very much. Yes I do not care about the breakfast as I have early flight and I will miss it so it is just a place to sleep as late arrival and the shuttle to and from the airport. So I am not interested in dinner or the breakfast. Just a place to sleep for a few hours and of course take a shower etc.
Which Holiday Inn is that if you can let me know?

Thanks. Yes but it is very expensive for a few hours as I am coming in late and then leaving very early morning.

Do you have points in any of the hotel frequent-guest programs?

A bit of points on the Bonvoy. Interesting that it says Fairfield Inn and Suites at Toronto Airport does not provide a Shuttle.

Does Four Points by Sheraton 6257 Airport Road Mississauga provide an airport shuttle?

Is one needed? I haven't stayed there however a recent TA reviews says the hotel is "So close and convenient to the Toronto airport. It’s right across the road and you can walk from the hotel into the terminal in under ten minutes."

I've been burned by inconsistent shuttle schedules iat YYZ n the past. My advice is to take an Uber to your hotel (especially if an extra 30 mins of sleep is important), and use the shuttle back to YYZ in the morning.

As no date was given, no way of knowing when you were traveling but good luck with your stopover.

Sorry it is for the 24th December and departure on the 25th December. I have booked the Four Points by Sheraton and hoping that they have a shuttle on Christmas morning.

+1

When I have stayed at YYZ, it has been after arriving on a positioning flight to take the late morning ET flight to Addis, the next day. I usually arrive around 16:00 to 18:00 and I can wait 30+ minutes for the hotel shuttle.

In your case, I would listen to Seat13F_AC_CRJ about booking an Uber, taxi, etc. I have had issues with free hotel shuttles late at night, early in the day and on holidays. Most hotels are running on minimum staffing at those times and you can get stuck waiting on someone to drive you to the airport.

Thanks for all the advice. yes I have been in touch with Marriot central booking and they did confirm the shuttle but I am not going to rely entirely on them for the return to the airport on the 25th. I will book an Uber for that.

I would confirm shuttle service for late nights and holidays direct and get the name and title of the staff instead of central booking.
