Recent experiences approaching YUL by car

Does anyone have a recent experience of approaching YUL by car? There are lots of news reports about long traffic jams. I drove to YUL in early August in the evening and traffic was almost to the 20, but I was coming from the Dorval Circle and turning off to the rental car area so I didnt especially get mixed up in the mess.

I am flying out of YUL on Monday afternoon so wonder if there is anyone has a more recent experience in the early afternoon. I will likely be coming off the 20, but can just as easily go via the Dorval Circle, which at least puts me in the proper lane. Coming off Cote de Liesse is another idea and driving on the road that leads past the Sheraton given that there is easy access to the rental car area from that direction.

Thoughts?

Last time I approached on the Cote-de-Liesse, I was in heavy traffic for a half-hour, which I'd never seen before in that spot. It made a bit more sense when I realized it grand-prix weekend, but it still felt excessive. You also have the option of Cardinal, from the sources/20 side, which is probably easier to get to the parking lots from.

Outside of rush hours is ok unless there is an accident or road closure. A20 is pretty bad in general but not as bad as L-H-LaFontaine Tunnel.

Thanks. Cardinal is a good idea, though it looks like the off ramp from the 20 is closed until the end of October. I had just become used to the fact that the approaches to YUL worked well (a new one for me after 50 years of using the airport), but the REM station construction is making things unpredictable. Such is Montreal!

Thanks. Im usually coming off the Mercier bridge so dont have too much distance on the 20. My recent reference point on YUL access is that it was backed up to the 20, and this was early evening. Some of the images from news stories are scary.

I just use Waze between downtown and airport and it's pretty accurate even during rush hour.
