CPAP through YYZ Pearson Toronto security

Hi,

I'm planning a flight with Air Canada to Rome Italy with my CPAP.

Has anyone gone though security at Pearson recently with a CPAP? What's the procedure for security screening - do I need to put in a bin or do they swab it (and the battery for it)?

(I know my CPAP bag doesn't count for my baggage allowance - I have tags for it . As well, I'm bringing a Medistrom battery for it as my apnea is very severe so I need to use it in flight). I know I have to notify their medical assistance desk at least 48 hours before that I'll be using it in flight.) I'm bringing a copy of my CPAP prescription in case I'm asked for it

I'd be interested in hearing recent experiences re: security in Toronto with a CPAP.

No issue really. You just need to take the unit out of the bag and put it in a bin. Battery can stay in the bag. Never had anyone look at it further. Last went through security in Pearson 3 weeks ago and have been through 4 or 5 times this year. I have an AirMini and a Medistrom battery.
