Small float plane flips over in Tofino Harbour

Heard one of the injured passengers interviewed. She said the plane was being operated by Harbour Air - an airline which operates scheduled service to/from Vancouver, Victoria, Nanaimo, & Tofino.

I'm pretty sure it was an Atleo River Air Service plane. Doesn't look like an HA plane in the pictures and the Global news segment said it was operated by Atleo River Air Services Ltd.

It definitely is, C-GYJX - registration is clearly visible in the photo. I flew on it this time last year when my wife and I were out there for August long weekend.

Alerted by Adam Smith , I checked and we had been on the same plane in September (look just above the control column):

The same airline had a pretty serious accident in 2010 resulting in the death of all pax: Aviation Investigation Report A10P0147 - Transportation Safety Board of Canada

However, this was likely due to intoxicated passengers interfering with flights controls

"What was happening in the cabin moments before the pilot lost control cannot be accurately determined. However, it can be concluded that this probably involved activity by the unsecured passengers that interfered with the pilot and his control of the aircraft."

"The passengers were intoxicated, however, they were able to walk and were sufficiently coherent to argue about the price of the charter."

Not in the online version of the story in (Victoria) Times-Colonist, but print version stated that it was actually a bit more serious than originally reported.

According to print article, a woman inside had her head underwater and got to a point where she was not able to raise it above water as she did several times in order to breathe, but her son was able to help her out of her seatbelt and breathe above water.
