Kamloops delay chances
I'm aware this isn't in the covered airports, but was hoping someone may be able to offer advice.
I've booked a ski holiday for my family and I next year, the basic itinerary is LHR-YVR Nightstop YVR - YKA Ski YKA - YYC (5 hour layover) YYC - LHR
I've recently heard from a couple of friends in Ski Club GB that Kamloops is a bit notorious for delays & closures around late Jan early Feb. We've booked onto the new WS 3314 service to Calgary (11:05 - 13:15) , then our flight departs at 18:15 for Heathrow, giving a cautious layover of 5 hours. How common exactly is it for delays to run into those kind of figures or even for the airport to close? Is there some kind of tracker tool to see delay history there?
Note - Flights back from YYC are in Biz and not insured against being missed due to connecting flights with other airlines, so if there's reasonable doubt I'd far rather pay the 600 change fee than have it weighing on my mind until then.
