YYZ connection time

YYZ connection time
Sorry if this isn't in the correct area. I looked. I really did.
looking at booking YGK - FLL.
reward option shows YGK - YYZ - YUL - FLL
56 min to change plans in YYZ.
Since they are both domestic flights, is this normally a problem?
EDIT: not sure if it would impact anything, but both my wife and I are Nexus holders.
Secondly... in a previous trip, my flight from YGK was delayed.
What is the likelihood that should this happen again, I make it somehow to FLL the same day? I am supposed to arrive in FLL on the 18th, and cruise leaves on the 20th.... And if this does happen.. the airline finds me a way to my end destination without charge to me correct? (I've never had that happen before)

If AC, that is probably better place to ask (please do not cross post), but 56 minute domestic connection at YYZ should not be a problem if arriving on time.
And if same carrier, they are reponsible for getting you to your original destination without charging you extra. This includes weather delays. May not be same day, but looks like you already budgeted for that.
