Im struggling to understand your first post. There is a CATSA Trusted Traveler (NEXUS/GE) security lane leading to US preclearance at YUL. Not sure what the hours are but Ive used it weekdays during daytime hours.

The second time, there were several lines open, but they sent families with kids and large winter coats to the Nexus line, slowing it down beyond the normal Business Class / Altitude priority line.

Traveling through YUL
The first time I posted, that Nexus/GE line you refer to was the only line open for everyone. So you can imagine what that was like...

I am sitting in the YUL lounge as i type this.
I came through today. I checked a bag due to the weight and type of items in the bag. When i got to the US Connection in YUL, the first stop is to scan the boarding pass for baggage. I had to wait about 20 minutes for my bags to catch up. - which i expected. Then i went to the security line. Not too many people. I do not have Nexus/GE. They directed me to a shorter line, not the nexus/GE or employee line. I think it was the priority line. Security was realatively pain free. Then i went onto customs. YUL is doing a trial to see if they can be more efficient - declaration cards are not required. They do have passport scanners, but that doesnt work for TN visas. So i got to speak with an agent. Then i was through.
Honestly, this experience is better than my typical experience going through YYZ.
