Application for US Global Entry, when one has Nexus?
Has anyone who has Canpass/Nexus applied for Global Entry for entry into the US while flying from other than US?

Global Entry is only available for US citizens and residents (which I assume to be Green Card Holders) when I checked earlier in the year. I just checked the website and it now mentions "citizens of other countries". I suspect it is the Dutch as they have an agreement on the Privium program

If you are NEXUS or Sentri members and US Citizens or residents you can use Global Entry

I just called the Global Entry enrollment in MIA (numbers listed in the Global Entry website). They said it is only for US Citizens, Residents and Dutch Citizens. Canadians enrolled in NEXUS are not permitted to join Global Entry. Bummer since I travel to Europe / Asia on UA via a US gateway. SFO there is never a line up for non-citizens. In ORD -- it hit or miss depending on the time of day I arrive.
Cheers

Unfortunately as Sing-along has noted, only for US citizens/legal residents. I have started using the US Resident lines at gateway airports when these look shorter than the Visitors ones. Never had a problem with an agent when I get to him or her. That said, i do think it is rather stupid to have so many different programs that cannot be integrated or interchanged. I suspect the problem with NEXUS is that it has become more widely used for those who live near the border and do regular driving across, thus diluting the pool and loosening security in the eyes of the Americans.

If the OP is a foreign national, then the above posts are correct.
As a US citizen, my experience is as follows: I applied for NEXUS last summer and had my interview at my arrival airport in Canada on a Monday. When I returned home from my trip that Friday, my NEXUS card had arrived on the mail. That Saturday afternoon, I applied for Global Entry on-line on the GOES site and was notified of approval that same evening! No additional fees, interviews, or documents required.
Have since used both NEXUS and GE several times and, yes, they work as advertised.
