This already is possible... LAS-MAN/FRA on ThompsonFly or Condor then RyanAir/EasyJet to STN. STN-KUL-SYD/AKL SYD/AKL-LAX on V Australia, LAX-LAS on AA/DL/NW/UA/US/WN. Guessing $1500-$1700 for this RTW itinerary.

Maybe this is helpful for someone:

Tune hotels (www.tunehotels.com) is opening a hotel at the Low cost terminal in KL that Air Asia uses in April. You can book rooms now. The city center is rather far from the airport.

I paid $ 10 for a double for my arrival night and $ 15 for a double for my morning return flight.
