Some cheap fares seem to be appearing, ex UK. MIA is showing less than 2K in J - was only for October when I started looking but now extended to November.....

Well, still nothing for FR/NL. My guess is that the 'bigger' markets will be last in line. However, with the savings I have seen I am not holding my breath anyways.

At the risk of betraying my purchasing habits, I do not.

This sale better be impressive- we are not forking out £1250pp + 25,000 BA miles for a MFU to CW to JFK... expecting to pay about half that in the sale but nothing is being advertised- I'm not too hopeful at the moment...

You are a very optimistic young man. Last time the ex-UK prices dropped to the EU level so that would be around £ 850 for a WTP to NYC.

Better than £2250pp for CW straight up.

I reckon you might get £900 if you are lucky. Demand is very high this year and fares have risen to compensate.

Oh dear... I remember seeing fares for £530 in the sale last year! £1000pp for flights is quite a lot for us (have to add on JER flights too) and hotel rooms in NYC are very expensive so 4 nights with flights can easily cost us £7000 + as we want 2 rooms somewhere nice! And that is before you add food + drink (and shopping ) costs!

Oh well, going to hope for the best!

I remain fairly confident that the WT+ Sale for a TATL will be worthwhile [when it eventually happens].

Currently stuck at £1071 LHR-IAD for May 2012 in WT+ [obviously with an MFU to CW ].

Our recent GBP fares for that sector [per person], working backwards from next month's trip, have been, ...

Has the YQ gone up recently?

Looks like £40 each way over WTP to MFU from LHR-JFK atm.

I don't remember paying that much before.

Valuable data points; thank you.

Is it a general rule that UK-US returns are cheaper than US-UK returns? I had expected to be able to find a thread discussing that very question, but I can't.

I'm a boring old [insert adjective of choice] so I keep track of these things! That also includes the date we booked, in addition to flight dates etc.

No idea about the fares the other way - you need an American as boring as me to provide that data. However, I hope we charge you guys extra ... the UK is a small country, and runs out of space very easily
