Any clues on the best CE offers ? I will probably need to pick up a few points over the coming months and quick CE RT's seem the least painful way of doing that.

Thks. The calculator on ba.com seems to be broken, so could someone please remind me how many TP's there are for CW flights to TLV or other Middle East destinations ?

Hi,

It would be 120 tps for a CW ticket each way.

If I were to book a WT+ fare in the current sale, can I MFU for the inward and outward flights at different times (assuming availability of course)?

For example: I book flight today. At the weekend I use 12,500 to upgrade coming back and then next week i use another 12,500 to upgrade the other leg of the journey?

I ask as there is currently availability on my return but not the outward.

Any help?

Yes you can - I have done this before (well - I booked then upgraded the outbound online when it became available several months after booking a sale fare).

I would do the upgrade at time of booking (you can do one-ways online) in case it disappears between booking and upgrading!

Give it to me straight... based upon historical experience, what are the odds of the August fares also getting sucked into the sale rates further down the line?

I'm planning a LON-JFK trip in early August and due to the school holidays the fares are currently sky high. I'm wondering if it's worth waiting to see if the fares drop if these flights don't start to fill up soon.

Very close to zero for WT/WT+ I'm afraid. See post #2 of this thread for historical sales. The summer sale does include August sometimes for off peak destinations - if it's not in now it won't be in next week.

Very likely the flights are already filling up already...

Thanks for this. I will MFU at time of booking and hope that availability changes between now and the outbound.

BA sale

Is this the main sale as usually there is one is September. Going to New York in November and can't decide whether to book now or wait to see if there is a sale in September.

There is usually something along in late August ... that's when I'm hoping to bag a May 2012 cheapie to IAD. The fares quoted above expire, IIRC, at end-March.

There will be another one coming along. And THEN grab it quickly

There may well be another later this year but if it's for November I wouldn't expect the fares to be better than those this time. If it's WT/WT+ you're after, I'd book now.

4 hours to go.

For those still thinking about buying a sale fare don't forget the sale has been known to end a little early...
