Fully second that. Got stuck in LHR last week because of weather and the guy at CS/rebooking desk in the main departure lounge was very helpful -- presented 3 possible options (all non-BA), recommended 1 which made most sense to him and got everything sorted within 10 min's. Straight A+ from me.
The guys at the CS desk in the lounge (Galleries First, if that matters in any way), on the other hand, did not really provide much assistance but just sent me back to the main departure lounge. Wonder why there is a CS desk inside the lounge in the first place??

And this is the whole point of the introduction of leaflets. Although the rebooking process wont change- the BA rebookers will rebook the pax while in still in the air, will send a message to the crew who in turn will fill out the form informing the pax of the new details. So if anything the service should be even quicker on the ground (bar the queues!)

This not exactly ground breaking is it?
When I saw the title I was hoping it was the start of the soft product enhancements and they were going to arrange for special services type people to meet you off the aircraft, escort you straight to the front of any queues at the FCC and security etc. etc.
No, we will just give you some crappy card that tells you what flight they have put you on next and oh, by the way there are lots of nice shops and lounges for you to visit whilst you wait hours for the onward connection you missed

SS meeting everyone! Do you know how many SS agents there are and how many CLUB and FIRST travellers there are in a day!?
Although there are plans for a similar type of 'meeting' service (not with SS) on selected routes

However, BA could do a lot more to ease the departure/arrival and transfer experience for CW and F pax without needing to employ lots of extra staff. - such as working with BAA to provide proper Fast Track.

Trust me BA1A, thats easier said than done unfortuntley, it took years for the t1 fcc FT and when it was finally introduced - it was abused by other paxs and very hard to control.
The problem with FT it 'needs' to be controlled and handled by BAA and they dont seem interested

It just needs strong management and some thought/imagination to be put in place to sort out Fast Track/BAA, trust me, it's not that difficult.

I agree, it really isn't that difficult - In T5 it is all BA, so how many variations are there to check. Plus isn't everything swiped anyway for the conformance check at T-35? So, why not have a BA person stationed before Fast Track and get them to check boarding passes. If BAA are not willing to do it, why don't BA do it before anyone approaches the BAA employee?

You'd have to click on 10 ads everytime you wanted to make a post.
FT Premium would charge by the minute.
To access any forum you have to click through 4 screens to a URL that changes every so often to stop you bookmarking it.
Every thread or forum subscription would cost 1GBP.
The server load would be badly unbalanced - do you feel lucky today to get the speedy one (max 6 hours per week) or the slow one?

Is it really *that* difficult to sort out a simple Fast Track lane for premium/status passengers in a brand new airport?
Last time I arrived at T5, I asked the BAA rep "where's Fast Track" and got the reply "Fast track ain't fast track today mate, it's slow track. You're better staying where you are".
You'd think with a brand new airport and a blank page to work from, they could have got T5->T5 transfers for premium passengers sorted out. It's a shocker.

The Purser on our flight back from FRA on Thursday night this week arrived to inform the gent sat next to me that 'T5' knew he as running late and provided details for his onward flight to MAN.
As we were in row 22 he was asked to seat himself in the spare row 1 seat once the seat belt sign came on for landing.
The purser was clutching a print out with a few updates for connecting passengers.

Premium transfer service at LHR???
Was chatting to a BA staff member today and they told me that from next month BA are trialing a premium transfer service for F/J pax involving pax being escorted from the aircraft through security to the lounge. Initially the trial will be on 2 or 3 "high profile" routes so JFK springs to mind. Does anyone have any more info on this? Hopefully this is just the start of the enhancement to the F class ground service.
