New CE Choice - "What Type of Dressing Would You Like With Your Salad, Sir ?"

No, it didn't happen. But why not? I mean, you get every choice of bread roll: white ones, brown ones, very dark brown ones, ones with bits on top (nuts? toenail clippings? looks the same), ones with onion in, ones with olives in...

But no choice of dressing

Now, we used to get that yummy balsamic vinaigrette.

But the latest offering is that digusting truffle flavoured one, that tastes like engine oil, and leaves a bad taste in your mouth for 3 weeks.

Or ... tonight... the lemon flavoured one, with that disturbingly milky and cloudy look to it. If it wasn't for the seal on the top, I'd swear it was a bit of some bloke's over-excitement.

The lemon stuff is just vile - though I have no idea whether it actually tastes of 'excitement'.

If you can swear to it to being "that", then you've been spending too much time around "that".

Let me be just correct that. It looks as if someone just had a good time. As for taste, I am sure some of my esteemed FT'ing friends can comment.

Oh Dear. I like the lemon dressing

We couldn't have a choice of dressing that would be too similar an offering to AAnother carrier wouldn't it?

Being a lemon dressing type of man, I expect you enjoy their hot nuts, though surely.

Excuse me. That would be warm nuts wouldn't it?

Oh yeah and you can forget about the Ranch dressing too.

Twice tonight I am going to say "I remember when" so I must be officially old... In CE I recall having a choice of dressings. They came from little plastic bottles, a bit like the marmalade/jam jars you used to get with the BR breakfast (Kippers anyone or maybe Kedgeree) before Virgin took over.

And peanuts - used to have those too.

This thread is coarse, vulgar, and a credit to nobdy except Fraser.

How do you know what the comparison you make to the dressing tastes like?

Why not bring your own dressing? I have two small glass-bottles from an LH onboard Salad-Dressing. They double as big as the BA dressing-bottles.
You can prepare your dressing at home the day before you fly.

I just want to see the face of the FA when you say:
"Oh I brought my own dressing"

(I know a guy who takes a bottle of Heinz Ketchup to Mc Donalds because he does not like the Ketchup they have there!)

I took a bottle of Heinz ketchup with me last year when I went skiing. My friends kindly stole the bottle from me on the first day and the next I saw of it was on the baggage recliam belt at Gatwick (I kid you not) to the merriment of everybody waiting for their bags and my immense embarassment.

And yes, the staff at Lyon airport had officially checked in as hold luggage a squidgy (not glass) bottle of ketchup!!!

By dressing, do you mean dressing, or that the stuff that the dressing looks like?

And do try to answer without being vulgar

So I am sure there would be much mirth and laughter if you were to be offered these "accompaniments" with your salad and the next question when you accept the offer would be

"Which side do you dress "
