Can I get silver flying ARN-LHR-LAX?

Hi.
I'm new at this great forum, before I surfed in here I didn't care about Miles & Points.

But in April me and my girlfriend are to fly Stockholm-London-Los Angeles and back. Can I get silver for flying that? Or can I forget that (flying economy).

Have a read of the ULTIMATE BA Guide sticky, at the top of the forum:

Specifically, the Tiers and Tier Points section should help you:

Hi,

Unless you are flying close to full fare economy ( Y,B,H fares I think) you will get 0 tier points for the flights ( and only 25% miles). If you colud upgrade to World Traveller + you would get 75 tier points each way LHR-LAX (600 needed for silver-UK card holders -do not know about Euro EC holders)

I'haven't booket my tickets yet.
So if i booked 2 World Traveller + tickets 75*4=300 tier points.
I live in Sweden so i think its about 400 points to silver?
Correct me if im wrong.

No, if you take the time to read the posts I linked you to, it's:

75 * 2 for the longhaul segments
20 * 2 for the shorthaul segments (as they book into B class)

= 190 in total.

If you get yourself an AA miles account and sign up for the 'Platinum Challenge' (see AA board for the details) then you may cover enough miles on this trip to get automatic promotion to OneWorld Sapphire. This is the same as BA Silver except you don't get the 25% miles bonus on your flights.

But for this you would need to fly AA LHR-LAX as you would not get anything on AA account flying BA LHR-LAX.
