I have such an animal - however, this offer is not good for me. I highlighted why not:

I am a little flexible and book always "specials".

The way I read it, these are two separate offers:

1) A companion fare offer that requires a full-fare WT+ or higher flight. There are T&C's on the site that detail the fares that qualify. You can register for the site without having to enter a VIN or any other proof of Jag ownership. This offer doesn't have any requirement to verify Jag ownership, so anyone could probably use it.

2) The Silver for 1 year offer, which requires a US to Europe flight in WT+ or above but not necessarily at full-fare. So discounted WT+ would do the trick. However, you do have to show proof of ownership of a registered Jag for this offer.

I suspect these are just a US or North American EC offers since the phone and fax numbers appear to be in the US.

Yes, it looks like ... "Book a round-trip ticket in FIRST, Club World or World Traveller Plus from the USA..."

A European citizen may have even trouble flying to the USA without a return ticket (or a green card ...)

Looks like they learned their lesson from last years debacle

Otherwise it would have been:

Free companion vouchers for visiting any Jag dealer
Free silver for you, your family and pets for saying you'll take a test drive

ScottC - All of us really took the Test Drive!

In fact, well behaved five (5) year old daughter Zoosh had her booster seat transferred from our 1994 Volvo Station Wagon into the Jaguar prior to her climbing in to the (BACK) seat for her spin around the block!

This looks very similar to to offer for BA VISA Signature Card holders. They can also get a free companion ticket when buying a full fare ticket (from the US).

Why does the BAEC offer better deals (such as this, and tier point thresholds) to members outside the UK than to members in the UK? Or is it a "grass is always greener" thing?

It's that time of year again!

I received an special invitation to Experience the Icon Reinvented.

You and a guest are cordially invited to participate in an unprecedented VIP celebration as Jaguar presents its full line of luxury cars. The 2004 Born to Perform Tour at one of America's most prestigious vintage racing events--The Southern California Historic Sports Car Festival at California Speedway. Enjoy a delicious buffet luncheon, VIP seating, plus an exclusive opportunity to get behind the wheel and experience how Jaguar has reinvented an icon.

Unfortunately, BA is not putting the event on this year. The invitation is sent on behalf of The Leading Hotels of the World to it's Leaders Club members.

Hope the food will be better than last year!

The first of a series of defensive marketing responses to *A status matching, perhaps?

Now that BA has shaken up both Gold and Silver tiers, making qualification / renewal thresholds harder to reach, perhaps it's realised that that it has booted out too many members. Or wishes to replace those displaced with the 'right' kind of member

Are Jaguar owners, irrespective of where they live, more likely to be the premium / full fare pax of tomorrow (above and beyond this offer)?!?

What on earth is BA's fascination with Jag?

I suspect somewhere in Waterworld is a marketing boffin who looks forward to his new Jag every year...
