!!!!! Merry, if you're online now !!!!!

Now it's May 17, 7 AM GMT. Sorry to bother you, but I wouldn't do if not a real emergency.

My grandma is really bad at hospital, had 3 heart attacks in a row yesterday, but still alive. My parents are now at LHR arrivals (just arrived from HKG) trying to anticipate their flight to GRU (they are booked for BA 247 departing tonight).

Is it too much if I ask you to contact BA and ask their assistance to re-route through AMS on KLM (departing 2 PM AMS time) and thus arriving tonight instead of tomorrow?

They have OWE RTW tkts in Business, so I don't see how KL can honor it, but perhaps with some extra effort from BA they will.

Anyway I already instructed them to contact BA SS and tell the story, in the hope they will help anyway. I believe BA will help anyway, but of course a word from a BA royal like you will make things much easier.

Sorry if I'm asking too much, and thanks in advance for any assistance.

In case BA needs to page my parents, their names are XXXXXX XXXXXX and XXXXXX XXXXXX. If roaming is working fine, they can be reach at HKG mobile phone number (852) XXXX XXXX.

I'm in Brazil right now at 55 (51) XXXX XXXX. My name is Sandro.

Again, thanks.

I've just tryed the HKG mobile phone and it's working. As I type, they are leaving LHR Arrivals to search for an SS agent.

Nick, thanks a lot, I love you!

To make things worse, Hotmail seems down now...

Thus, please post here instructions for them on who to contact, or better yet if you could give them a call.

I just called them and they are at T2 checking if AF is a go.

They need to go to Desk xx at the departures level in T4. Ask for SS (quote the name xxxxx xxxxx), and they will do they will do their best to get them their ASAP.

Having said that SS are saying the ATC is down this morning and as a result their are delays of upto 4 hours.

Good luck!

Nick

PS: They are still booked on BA 247 seats 10 A/B.

BA will kill me for posting this, but the normal number for SS in T4 is: 0208-xxx xxxx

but the unlisted number is: 0208-xxx xxxx

Please let me know when you have read this so I can delete the numbers!

Thanks,
Nick

Quick update: my parents are now talking to Nick's friends, so I'm sure they will come with the best possible solution, despite ATC down.

Thanks again Merry, ScottC and estnet, will keep you posted.

Now I need some rest, it's 6 AM here and I gotta sleep some.

Toxa

Yes - what Merry has done is admirable - though I'm sure we'd all be there too in Merry's time of need !

Words fail me, what a great community we have.

This is proof, not that any were ever needed, that Merry is a true Gentleman, and an example to us all.

Toxa, my thoughts are with all of your family, I sincerely hope everything works out well.

Ken.

Hold on one cotton-picking minute... I don't know if Toxa's family managed to get an earlier flight, and if they did any thanks should go to BA and any other carriers involved and certainly not to me.
